NEF Tube - Community ViewsThe NEF recognises the vital role that colleges play in their local communities. Educationally, culturally, financially. To reflect such wider goals of community support and enhancement, the Foundation supports schemes and activities beyond the core remit of engineering and technology learning. The NEF is proud sponsor of 23 Cadet Squadron Royal Engineers in Holloway, an Army Cadet Force unit in one of London's poorest areas, providing fun and challenging activities for local boys and girls aged 12 to 18. It is badged to the Corps of Royal Engineers. In the last year, the NEF has been delighted to provide the unit with that all important bit of cadet uniform: the olive green t-shirt! Which is proudly worn by 23 Sqn cadets.
The Foundation's Enterprise and Knowledge Transfer scheme includes support for the Kensington and Chelsea College's course on the theory and practice of African contemporary dance. New dancing and teaching techniques are being transferred to small, commercial dance companies.
