Masterclasses
The New Engineering Foundation has developed the Masterclass Programme to help lecturers to gain up to date knowledge of technologies and processes in use or having an impact on industry. Through our one day Masterclass events, we aim to support lecturers and curriculum developers to hear from experts and learn techniques to incorporate into their training and education provision.
Each Masterclass is run at a company or a research centre with industrially relevant facilities. In this way attendees gain direct experience of current and emerging technologies and processes being applied in leading companies and organisations.
Continuing Professional Development
Attendance on the Masterclass will go towards your 30 hours (Pro rata) CPD requirement from the Institute for Learning and LSIS (formerly QIA) to keep your QTLS dual professionalism in teaching and your subject expertise updated. Each Masterclass is worth 6 CPD hours or points. In addition, you can also use your Masterclass participation towards the professional registration or CPD with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
People who attend our Masterclass events often go on to apply for a place on the NEF’s Industrial Fellowship Scheme, which supports lecturers to develop improved provision through an industrial placement.
Supported by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, all the Masterclasses are now being offered to Further and Higher Education organisations at the subsidised booking fee of £72. Other attendees are welcome at the standard booking fee of £288. Attendance at most of our Masterclasses is limited to 20 places per event.
