After lunch, delegates were introduced to exciting case-studies from the NEF Fellowship Schemes (Industrial and Enterprise & Knowledge Transfer) by Bob Busby, National Lead Inspector for Engineering, OfSTED

First up was David Steel, Managing Director from Aqua Fabs who with Neil Tobin from Northampton College, engaged all with an interesting role play as SME business owner and Bank Manager respectively.


And then David unveiled his latest development the Toylander. The ultimate gift for the boy (or girl!) who has everything…!

Dr
Bob Mudd from Bridgwater College joined forces with Brendan Daly from Magnox
South to talk about nuclear commissioning and decommissioning and how the College
had provided innovative solutions to their particular training and development
challenges.


Judith Rosser-Davies, Senior Development Manager at the London Development Agency then took the lectern to introduce ‘Fashionology’ – the future of fabrics technology!

Diane
Gowland, Director, Centre for Innovation, Newham College introduced the developments
that her college had made mixing fashion and nanotechnology.

Pallavi Malholtra, Newham College explained further on how Newham have used their Fellowships to build strong relations with West Ham FC and London City Airport and guide them in using both nanotech and RFID in their uniforms and general operations.

Pallavi then gave a demonstration of juice-resistant capabilities of a T-shirt treated with Nanotech fluid.

And Beck Hunt, Newham College spoke about how sustainability in Fashion was important and how her Fellowship with London College of Fashion had helped forward this agenda.
